Jamal Hughes is the owner and head trainer of Brickwall catching. Mr. Hughes has 25 years of playing, coaching, and instructing experience. He started his playing career at the age of 4 years at the infamous Matthew Dickey Boys and Girls Club in St. Louis, MO. After youth ball, Coach Hughes was a 3 varsity letterman at Hazelwood Central High School from 2007-2011. He was a two time All-Conference Selection and helped lead his team to two district titles in his years there. After finishing high school, Jamal went on to play at Harris Stowe University (2012-2013), Frank Phillips College (2013-2014), and SEMO's club baseball team (2014-2016). Jamal went on to play for the Somerton Caneros in the Desert League of professional baseball which was an independent league (2016). After his playing career was over he was able to complete his degree program online and gained his business management degree from Southeast Missouri State University in 2017. Since then Mr. Hughes has held two head coaching roles for two separate club ball organizations one in which he still holds with the THZ Tribe. He founded Brickwall Catching in 2020 and has since closely worked with over 100 athletes.
